On February 23, Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe met with President Michelle Bachelet Jeria of the Republic of Chile. Chile is currently playing a leading role in the genre of free trade and will host the Trans-Pacific Partnership11 (TPP11) signing ceremony in March. The leaders agreed to deepen cooperation on North Korea and other regional issues, and also on reform of the United Nations Security Council. The two countries celebrated the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations last year.
