Prime Minister and LDP President Yoshihide Suga attended the Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony. In his remarks, he said, "As the atomic bomb survivors grow older, it becomes more important than ever that we communicate the true nature of the bombing to future generations and lands beyond our borders," vowing to continue efforts to pass down to future generations the memories of the horrors of war and nuclear weapons, and to make progress on the achievement of permanent peace and a world without nuclear weapons.
