Japan-U.S. Summit Meeting pledges to "further strengthen the unwavering bond between the two countries"

Japan invited President Donald Trump as the first state guest of the "Reiwa" era. Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe and the President Trump shared the view that, thanks to measures such as Japan's Legislation for Peace and Security, the Japan-U.S. Alliance is now "the closest alliance in the world." They vowed to continue to lead the peace and prosperity of the region and international community as true global partners. They also confirmed their coordination to ensure a successful G20 Osaka Summit.
