Secretary-General Toshihiro Nikai and Komeito Secretary-General Tetsuo Saito met with His Excellency Kong Xuanyou, China's ambassador to Japan. They confirmed that the two countries would coordinate closely toward an early resolution of the novel coronavirus spread, with a view to President Xi Jinping's upcoming visit to Japan and the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
