Japan-China-ROK trilateral summit: High hopes to meet by the end of the year

The Trilateral Foreign Ministers' Meeting between Japan, China, and South Korea (Chairperson: Minister of Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida) was convened to discuss ballistic missile launches by North Korea and other aspects of the current situation in Northeast Asia. While in Japan, Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China and Mr. Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe. During the talks, Prime Minister Abe noted the need for coordination among the three countries for the peace and stability of the region and expressed his willingness to convene a Japan-China-South Korea summit by the end of the year.
