UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond and Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon, in Japan for the 2nd Japan-UK Foreign and Defence Ministers' Meeting ([2 +2]), made a courtesy call to Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe. The Prime Minister expressed his expectations for their meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida and Minister of Defence Gen Nakatani, noting the many challenges to be faced in the security environment in the Middle East and Asia, including IS (Islamic State) terrorism and nuclear testing by North Korea.
