At the start of his U.N. trip, Prime Minister Abe attended a summit of the G4. Together with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, he published a joint declaration calling for early reform to the Security Council, including an increase in permanent members from the current five to eleven.
