Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the new EU presidency, and they committed to work together to seek a basic agreement on a Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) by the end of the year. They also confirmed the importance of ongoing dialogue with Russia on the Ukraine issue at the head of state level.
