Chinese Ambassador to Japan, Mr Wan Yi, makes a Courtesy Call to Secretary-General Takebe

On the 7th October Secretary-General Takebe received a courtesy call at the LDP Headquarters from Chinese Ambassador to Japan Mr. Wan Yi.

Mr. Wan Yi said, “Our economic cooperation is strong, but our political relations have cooled. In order to overcome this situation it is necessary to build healthy relations between Japan and China.” In reply Secretary-General Takebe said, “As we respect each other’s viewpoints, we would like to correspond with deepened communication in the future. We would like to work hard to develop Japan-China relations.” Both parties recognized the importance of Japan-China relations.

Also, in order to highlight one episode that demonstrates deepening Japan-China friendship, Secretary-General Takebe said, “Now that we can see so many Chinese people visiting Hot Springs in Hokkaido we have really begun to appreciate how close China is to us.”
