Prime Minister Shinzo Abe: "Japan and India have the most potential of any bilateral relationship"

On October 28, the day before the Japan-India Summit, Prime Minister and LDP President Shinzo Abe invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his vacation home in Yamanashi Prefecture to discuss the future of Japan-India relations. Mr. Modi is a close friend of the prime minister and the first foreign head of state to be invited to his home. During the summit, Prime Minister Abe welcomed the steady progress being made on bilateral cooperation, such as the creation of an arrangement for cooperation between the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the Indian Navy in maritime security and the establishment of the Japan-India Space Dialogue. After the summit, the leaders held a joint press conference.
