Japan will host the G8 Summit in 2016, and Prime Minister Abe spoke with Chancellor Merkel of Germany, the host of this year's Summit. The two countries confirmed their strong partnership, agreeing to work together on reform of the United Nations Security Council during this 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, and to hold regular consultations on peace in Ukraine.
